Vitamin D-3 (as cholecalciferol) is known as the "Sunshine Vitamin" because it is formed in the body by the sun's ultraviolet rays on the skin.

Are You Getting Enough D-3?

An Estimated 57% of Adults in the United States have Severe Vitamin D-3 deficiencies, and in areas with minimal sun exposure, these estimates can be as high as 90%.

The Best Form of Vitamin of D-3 is Sunlight. However, most people cannot get enough exposure to sunlight to provide them with adequate levels of D-3, and living in a sunny climate does not guarantee vitamin D-3 deficiencies.

The elderly are more prone to this deficiency since their capacity to activate vitamin D in the skin is reduced as we age.

As a return customer, I got this bottle of D3 gratus. I started using this instead of the D3 I was buying at the local drug store. Not sure if it is placebo OR if it is really different in purity and quality. I take in the evening with most of the diabetic supplements and I seam to be sleeping better. Sun is still the best D3 if it would ever get warm enough to get outside.

The product seems to be fine so far as my wife has currently taken them. The issue I'm with the product is when the arrived the capsules were clumped together and are hard to separate. My wife will take more than the amount due to this issue and may (but hasn't yet) break the capsules when attempting to separate them. I'm assuming this was caused by the heat here in Texas and being shipped with any heat protection. If needed I can provide photos.
