Rematch confirmed between Jesse Arnett and Ali Al Qaisi for the UAE Warriors Featherweight Crown
If the fireworks that ensued after the UAE Warriors Main Event in Abu Dhabi between Jesse Arnett and Ali Al Qaisi wasn’t enough of a clue, it has been confirmed that there will be a rematch between Jesse Arnett and Ali Al Qaisi for the UAE Warriors Featherweight title.
Arnett lands an elbow to the brow of Al Qaisi, opening a deep laceration that would eventually stop the fight.
Jesse Arnett walked away with the win and the UAE Warriors Featherweight title in the 2nd round of their last fight at the Etihad Arena on July 2, 2022. After Al Qaisi slipped on the mat during a high kick attempt, Arnett pounced on the opportunity and cut Al Qaisi’s brow wide open with a well-placed elbow strike. Shortly afterward, the match was stopped because of the severity of the laceration and Arnett was proclaimed winner. That’s when chaos broke out.
A post-match scuffle ensued, first between Al Qaisi and the referee. During which, Arnett attempted to intervene and congratulate Al Qaisi on a match well fought, but that only enraged Al Qaisi. The two exchanged words and then Al Qaisi had to be restrained as he turned his frustration to Arnett, chasing him around the cage and forcing Arnett to jump the fence.
Al Qaisi pursues Arnett after the bout enraged by the stoppage.
Immediately after the match Arnett said, “Ali deserves an immediate re-match. This fight was razor close and I landed and elbow from the top and split him wide open. I’m not the referee but I’m here to compete…”
Now we know Arnett and Al Qaisi will have another go at it at UAE Warriors 33, Bad Blood on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Both are looking to take care of some unfinished business.
I recently got a chance to ask UAE Warriors Featherweight Champ, Jesse Arnett his thoughts on the re-match and this is what he had to say.
“I’m super excited for the rematch. It will be the main event at UAE WARRIORS 33 Bad Blood. This will be the biggest fight in the history of the UAE WARRIORS.”
“I expect Ali to show up better than last time as this is a grudge match, I’m more than prepared to get back in there with “The Royal Fighter” and prove that I am the undisputed UAE WARRIORS Featherweight World Champion.”
Arnett is looking for his third straight win as he defends his new UAE Warriors Title and to do away with all the nay sayers and their doubts and improve his overall record to 21 - 8 - 0.
